This unique piece was commissioned to me by a gentleman who wanted to immortalize a memory from his childhood. As a young boy he witnessed his grandfather sacrificing a lamb. As it lay there, slowly dying in his arms, the lamb began to lick its blood from the grandfather’s hands. This moment really stuck out in his mind; only later in life did it really take on meaning. He drew the connection to Christ being the sacrificial lamb, and by licking the blood from his grandfather’s hands, it represented Christ forgiving us. It was a great pleasure to be able to immortalize this memory in painting form.
